In doing this research paper I learned that I procrastinate more than I thought. This project seemed long and tedious to me and to be very honest I hated it. I thought it would be something I would have enjoy because it was more current work but because it was more pop culture current work it made it harder to find things in 'academic' sources.  My understanding of college-level research has changed dramatically; it’s a lot harder to do things that haven’t been deemed ‘real history’, a research paper is a lot different than other works. I am used to doing comparison essays and other types of essays but the research paper has more components and is a lot harder to create, especially for a procrastinator at my level. For the future students who take this class my biggest piece of advice: DO NOT procrastinate, the milestones ARE your friends. They make the paper a lot easier to complete by breaking it up and turning things in at different times and decrease the amount of stress. If I could do anything different I would keep up to date with the milestones and not slack off as much as I did.

My Final Research Paper Game Plan

During the next two weeks, I need to work on finishing up my draft and getting caught up with the appropriate amount of words and /or pages for the final paper. I need to pull all of my sources and organize it properly for my paper. My biggest areas I need to improve are organization, and finding higher quality sources and finding ones that will add to my paper and not just be words that have no real purpose to my paper. I can make time to do this during my off hours at home and I can even try work on the train now that Microsoft Office is available on my iPhone.

My Research Topic

I have decided to research Portraying Robots in Film , i think it'll be a very fun and interesting topic to learn about. The movie i plan to watch and research is I, Robot which is about a man who lives with a distress to robots due to a bad personal experience. He befriends a robot and they end up saving humanity. I am looking forward to what other people have said about it and what opinions or views other people have on the subject. I am pretty sure I am doing this topic but I may come across a reading while doing light research in another topic that might spark more interest.

Hi, my name is Dreanne Franklin. My major is Liberal Arts in Math and Science and I plan on graduating here at LaGuardia then transferring to another school to get a Nursing degree. My final end goal in my career is to become a Nurse Anesthetist, which is the nurse that delivers the Anesthesia in any surgeries or operations. Depending on how long it takes me to reach that goal I might decide few years later to go to medical school and get my doctorate to then become an Anesthesiologist which is essentially the same profession but one holds a PhD and a higher pay.  I enjoy all types of books but my favorite would be mystery, I love a good cliffhanger!! I consider myself to be a technology optimist I think advances in technology are amazing and they help so many people in terms of jobs and creativity. But I do believe that the rest of America is 50/50 on the subject, some agree with me and others think that due to technology it is taking away from family time and those who overuse or abuse it are putting others in danger. Those would be people who text and drive or text while walking and bump people causing them to drop or spill things on themselves or others and people.
